Huracan in Semi-Finals of NNSL

Congratulations for our partner team in the Northern Nevada Soccer League (NNSL).  Huracan had a great game in the Quarter-Finals, beating Antequera 3-0 but unfortunately lost in a tough Semi-Final match-up to Reno Inter.  Thank you boys, coach Chinto and coach Julio for a great season!

Players 05 RR to Semi-Final of CUFA. Out On Penalties.

Great weekend for Players 05 RR at CUFA in South Lake Tahoe.  After a comfortable win Saturday morning against Spanish Springs, our boys faced a highly ranked team (top 60 in USA) from Impact soccer club in CA and came away with a convincing 4-1 win and the top spot in our group standings.  Our Semi-final match-up on Sunday was South Tahoe La Onda – a team we have seen in many times over the last year.  After a very tight game, remarkably, we were were tied after regulation ( again!  4 out of the last 5 games have been tied) and we ultimately lost on penalties.  La Onda went on to win the tournament.

Rovers take 2nd Place at Reno Tahoe Soccer Festival

With a few tough wins against local teams; South Tahoe Aguilas and San Juan Nevada; and a tie against Westside Timbers (Petaluma, CA), Reno Rovers made the final on Sunday afternoon.  Despite some challenging weather the team worked hard, but ultimately lost the final game 3-1 to the team from Petaluma.

Reno Select ’05 – 2nd Place in Elk Grove

Reno Select ’05, an all-star team representing 7 GBYSL teams (and 4 different clubs), competed in the Elk Grove Kickoff Classic this weekend and came home with 2nd Place Medals in the Gold division. An impressive result being that they had never played a game together until Saturday morning. Reno Rovers was represented by 6 players on the tournament roster and another 3 players on the local practice squad.
